This is a very drinkable wine with stunning black fruit, cedar, graphite and sweet peppery spice and a hint of meatiness on the nose. The fruit is ripe on the palate but but has a gentle hint of green and savoury meaty note and just enough tannins.
This vintage has a blend of 7 Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, with a splash of Cabernet Franc. The wine was born as a light-hearted 'strike back' against the Swartland Revolution, when Rhone blends were suddenly thrust onto the centre stage, and Bordeaux blends of Stellenbosch and all Cabernet Sauvignon suddenly became 'uncool'.
