Durbanville Hills Blanc de Blancs Methode Cap Classique 2017Regular price $48.00
This pale straw coloured wine has notes of citrus, Granny Smith apples, and pineapple, rounded off with creamy biscuit on the nose. On the palate, it has an abundance of citrus, apple and pineapple flavours, well-supported by a natural crisp acidity, and mouth-wateringly creamy texture and a lingering finish.
The grapes for the Durbanville Hills Blanc de Blancs are hand selected from a single block situated 250 metres above sea level on the hill opposite the winery. The coolness of the southern slope ensures a firm acidity and the selection was based on the immaculate uniformity of the berries.
In June 2020, Durbanville Hills' Blanc de Blancs 2015 was crowned World's Best Sparkling Wine in the 2020 World Sparkling Wine Awards held in London, beating fierce competition from 45 entries from 8 countries around the world, including some of the world's best sparkling wine regions -- France and Italy.
