This is a delightful, Sancerre-inspired Sauvignon Blanc aged in the traditional amphora vessel. The nose is open and expressive with notes of pear, white peach and blackcurrant. The palate is lively with a zesty, lemon and lime core and a lovely, fresh finish. The juice was wild fermented and matured in 500 litre clay pots for 10 months before bottling. A limited-edition wine, only 1100 bottles were produced for this vintage.

This is unlike any SB I have ever had. Low on the traditional citrus tartness and in its place is the fresh minerality of this grape with soothing earthiness that presumably comes from the aging in clay pots. Kudos to a creative wine-making process.
