The Agrafe method uses cork and an 'agrafe' staple as a bottle closure during the second fermentation process instead of a crown cap. This wine undergoes traditional cork fermentation and maturation on cork for 36 months.
This is the very first vintage from Le Lude, who pioneered the Agrafe method in South Africa. Only 378 bottles were produced of this stunning sparkling wine. Bone-dry with notes of wild mushroom, toast, yellow fruit and pastry, it has racy acidity and fine bubbles. Drinking well now.
