Mullineux Family Wines

Mullineux Family Wines

Mullineux is the Swartland winery of Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines.

Mullineux was established by powerhouse winemaking couple, Chris and Andrea Mullineux. Having worked several vintages at wineries in France, South Africa and California, Chris & Andrea chose to settle in the Swartland region of the Western Cape Winelands, firmly believing that the ancient granite and schist based terroirs and old vineyards of this region have the potential to produce truly great wine.

A young winery that only began in 2007, Mullineux quickly established itself as a celebrated winery. Chris and Andrea were named 2017 South African Winemakers of the Year by Tim Atkin, and Andrea Mullineux being named 2016 Winemaker of the Year by US publication Wine Enthusiast (she was the first winemaker from South Africa to earn this accolade). Mullineux was named in the top 10 of the Best Fine Wine Producers in the Australasia, Africa and Middle East by Fine Wine Research Publication, Liquid Icons.

Most notably, Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines was awarded the prestigious 2025 Golden Vines Awards Best Rising Star.

The name Mullineux originates from ‘Watermill’ in French, which is represented by the millstone emblem as part of the design of the Mullineux Swartland logo. This further links Mullineux to the Swartland, which is known as the ‘bread-basket’ of South Africa due to its beautiful wheat fields.

Mullineux produces four different series of wines, including Roundstone Wines, Signature Wines (on allocation only), Single Terroir Wines (on allocation only), and Kloof Street Wines.
