Warwick The Black Lady Pinotage 2023

This wine speaks to a modern interpretation of Pinotage. Stylistically, it leans into the elegance of its Pino Noir lineage, rather than the conventional power often associated with Pinotage.

Produced from low-yielding bush vines on the Simonsberg mountain, grapes are hand-picked and sorted in the cellar into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Pump overs every 2 hours for the first 3 days and then presses early to finish fermentation without skins, this results in a finer tannin structure. The wine is then transferred to French oak barrels for a 14-month aging period (23% new oak) before filtration and bottling.
