TASTING NOTES
Two vineyards - one on schist, the other on iron-rich clays - supply the grapes for this 100% whole bunch-fermented Swartland Syrah. Incense, black olive and bacon fat flavours are supported by dense tannins, lots of grip, focus and intensity, layers of inky dark berry fruit and top notes of wild thyme and rosemary. Brilliant stuff.
Deep ruby in colour, with aromatics of red and black fruit, fynbos, spice, and dark pepper. The palate has good fruit concentration, savoury with spice, and is well structure with balanced acidity.
