TASTING NOTES
100% Pinot Noir
The grapes for Catherine Marshall's top-of-the-range Pinot Noir were grown from one premium cool site with well-balanced canopies. 100% of the grapes are selected from
clone 115 which has proved to be very well suited to the soils which have a combination of deep red weathered shales interspersed with ferrous- rich gravel fragments.
The engineering of cool climate, site position and crafting of these elements provide the perfect harmony required to produce a Pinot of fine character. The Pinot is an interpretation of the elements that are idiosyncratic to specific soils, climatic conditions in that year to reflect harmony, balance and a sense of grace.
Bright, vinous and laser-like purity throughout the body of the wine envelopes a core of cranberry and ripe, fresh cherry fruit. Dry, taught and suedey textured tannins provide a
canvass for this Burgundian expression.
