About the Experience
This is not a wine pairing dinner.
It is an opportunity to experience the wines of La Brune through the person behind them.
Nico Grobler, viticulturist, winemaker and founder of La Brune, will guide the evening personally — sharing his journey, the philosophy behind the wines, and the story of Elgin, South Africa's cool-climate home of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Throughout the evening, guests will:
🍷 Experience a curated selection of wines from La Brune — from the fresh, fruit-driven The Valley range to the terroir-driven La Brune Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
🧠 Hear directly from Nico — his journey from a formative harvest in Mercurey, Burgundy, and his years at Eikendal in Stellenbosch, to farming his own property in Elgin
🌍 Understand Elgin — a high-lying inland plateau about 70km from Cape Town, where sandstone and shale soils and high-density plantings of 10,000 vines per hectare shape wines Nico wants you to recognise as Elgin in a blind tasting
🤝 Engage in an intimate setting — designed for conversation, learning and shared discovery
