TASTING NOTES
This wine is a tribute to a classic red wine of the Cape from the 1950's, 60's and 70's which were unique to the culture, terroir, history and tastes of the Cape. At the time, the best of these South African red wines were mostly blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and other red varietals such as Cabernet Franc.
This is a beautiful and elegant wine with notes of bergamot and dark violets on the nose. The palate is structured, with fine chalky tanins, hints of spices and herbs, and fresh dark fruits. The finish is dry, vibrant, layered and long. This has great ageing potential and will drink beautifully from 2023 - 2030. Best served at 16°C - 18°C.
