Tim Atkin's Rating: 95 points Platter's Guide: 96 points
Wine critic, Tim Atkin, calls it the only world-class example of a Merlot from South Africa. The wine has a fragrance of ripe red fruits such as plums and dark cherries, with earthy complexity and yet still expressing minerality. Maintaining a good acidity lends to outstanding freshness with a well integrated ripe and seductive tannin structure. This wine will continue to develop over years to come, with an optimal drinking window of 2021 - 2030.

Probably the best wine out of Elgin Valley, who could've thought a pure merlot to carry this much complexity? Dark berries predominate in the palette with just the right amount of sweetness and smooth finish. This is a constant feature in our wine fridge.
